Cinco de Mayo Cake II

So... I had a friend's husband contact me last week for a surprise party for his wife! I was so excited to be a part of her surprise! Makes you feel like a child keeping a secret! LoL. So after some picture sharing and a sketch, a Cinco de Mayo cake was created for the party! This was a four-layer marble cake with buttercream filling. All the decorations and accents are made by hand and out of marshmellow fondant. The only survivor of the cake was the cactus... the cake and fondant was dispersed and eaten immediately. Ah... the relief of a job well done. ^_^  Until next time....

Baby Rump Cake

A new creation!! I was super excited to make a cake for a friend's baby shower. I have been wanting to make this cake for the longest time and this was the perfect opportunity. Everything you see is edible. The baby rump is cake covered in fondant. Everything else is fondant. The cake itself is a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and and filled with strawberries and whipped cream. What I love about the this cake is that anyone can design a rump cake with so many possible accents and decorations!!

Elephant Birthday Cake

Made this cake for my brother's wife who is a HUGE elephant lover. With my brother's help, we designed this cake for her birthday. Everything is edible and molded from Marshmellow Fondant (MMF). The cake is covered and filled with cream cheese frosting- which was absolutely delicious- if I may say so myself. LoL.

The elephant is sitting on a patch of grass holding a heart. The small gifts spelled out her name and the lettering was all done with MMF.

This was one of my bigger projects and was very excited with the outcome!

CheeseCake Pops

Happy New Year!! I have hit the ground running so far this year...

So my dad's birthday was yesterday and I decided to finally experiment with cheesecake pops. He is a HUGE cheesecake fan, so I figured, hey- cheesecake on a stick- easy to eat and super yummy!!

Well, let me tell you, it was a MESSY ordeal, LoL. But, I think the end product came out great. Something I learned the hard way, though, is that these pops need to be refrigerated until they are ready to be eaten!!

These were strawberry cheesecake pops with white chocolate and red sprinkles made into a "basket" with accessories. :)

Next time, I will experiment with oreo cookie cheesecake dipped in chocolate and covered with graham crackers... sounds soooo yummy-licious.

Castle Cake

Made this cake for a boy turning 6 where knights and castles was the theme. This cake was my final cake, literally 12/31, of 2010. He absolutely loved it!!

3 tiered cake and a fondant covered buttercream tower. Chocolate and vanilla cakes with buttercream! It was a hit and the birthday boy was happy!

It was a great way to end 2010!

*I don't want to take credit for the origin of this cake. The mom printed a picture of a cake that she wanted and this cake was created from that inspiration.
